One thing I'm always doing is searching for informative websites. So I was pleased to see that Democrats in the Oklahoma House of Representatives have launched a website: okhousedems.org. Their press release said in part:
“We’re proud to be launching this new project, and we believe it will help us all keep our constituents better apprised of what we’re doing at the Capitol,” said Democratic Leader Danny Morgan, D-Prague. “House Democrats want to make every effort to be as open and accountable as possible to our constituents. A website is a great way to do offer the public as much information as we can give them so they can explore it on their own time.”
Rep. Morgan noted that the website remains an ongoing project, but already site visitors can find an archive of press releases, editorials and videos from this session featuring Democratic legislators.
I admit to a high state of confusion when it comes to technology but -- is this a "website" or a 'blog" anyway? Seems bloggy to me - which means you can add it to your news aggregator (try Bloglines.com) to keep track of posts to the site.
I didn't know that was happening. Thanks for the interesting post. Do you think the Republicans will launch their own one as well?
ReplyDeleteThis is great. I usually just watch the news, but it is not always accurate. Thanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteA blog is just a kind of software running a website. Basically, all blogs are websites (tho some websites have multiple blogs), but not all websites are blogs. Some websites that are not run as blogs, still might be run by blogging software somewhat disquised, and certainly non-"blog" websites can have RSS feeds. In fact, websites that do not have feeds at this point are sorely behind the times and need a kick in the butt, or code, or something. ;-)
