Who Are the Great American Women Authors?
The Guardian has an article by Elaine Showalter (author of A Jury of her Peers: American Women Writers From Anne Bradstreet To Annie Proulx) on why women aren't counted among the "giants of American letters." Elaine Showalter sheds a sad but truthful light on the plight of the American female author. The title of her book immediately caught my attention, as Susan Glaspell's short story "A Jury of her Peers" is one of my all time favorites. Thank you!
