In television interviews she was out of her depth in a shallow pool. She was limited in her ability to explain and defend her positions, and sometimes in knowing them. She couldn't say what she read because she didn't read anything. ... She wasn't thoughtful enough to know she wasn't thoughtful enough. Peggy Noonan has reasonably high standards for the presidency of the United States. You have a problem with that?
ReplyDeleteIf you read the entire column, it's clear that Noonan is taking a stand against the know-nothingism in the Grand Old Party.
I have always admired Noonan's intelligence and facility with words, even when I disagree with her (which is often). In this case, I agree with her completely.

Mrs. Palin actually said she loves Alaska so much that she's "sacrificing her title" for the state.
