National Women's Friendship Day is celebrated annually on the third Sunday in September. It was created in 1999 by Kappa Delta Sorority to encourage women everywhere to celebrate their special women friends. The celebration is additionally honored by the governors of several states who were among the first to make Governor's Proclamations endorsing National Women's Friendship Day.
